If the alleged misconduct relates to course-related requirements, Texas A&M University’s rules for handling allegations of academic misconduct shall be applied unless the alleged misconduct relates to federally funded research or creative work, either by an active federal research project or the use of data or primary sources that were compiled in whole or in part with federal funds in which case the procedures set out in this rule apply. The Ethics Officer shall facilitate the inquiry and follow the inquiry procedures established in system regulation 15.99.03. The Ethics Officer will follow the notification requirements specified in system regulation 15.99.03. the allegation is sufficiently credible and specific to warrant an inquiry and.the allegation falls within the definition of misconduct in research, scholarship or creative work provided in this rule.Upon receiving an allegation of misconduct in research, scholarship or creative work, the Ethics Officer will review and assess the allegation to determine whether: The duties of TTI’s Ethics Officer shall include those duties specified in System Regulation 15.99.03 – Ethics in Research, Scholarship and Creative Work. TTI has appointed an Ethics Officer, who has decision-making authority for the resolution of issues related to ethics in research, scholarship and creative work. Achieving high ethical standards should transcend considerations of finance, personal gain and short-term individual and institutional recognition. TTI’s credibility and long-term reputation depend on the encouragement, enforcement and reward of superior ethical standards.
